A more grounded way to understand AI’s impact is to treat “capability” as only the first question. The second question—often the decisive one—is whether organizations can deploy that capability in ways that are safe, cost-effective, and operationally compatible with how work actually happens. And the third question is what happens to responsibilities when adoption begins: which parts of a job get automated, which parts get redesigned, and which parts remain stubbornly human because they involve judgment, accountability, relationships, or context that doesn’t fit neatly into a prompt.
